Jeffrey Alan Guy, MD

Jeffrey Guy, MD, a native of California, earned his bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University where he also played intercollegiate baseball. He received his medical degree and residency training at Harvard University. While in Boston, he completed fellowships in Orthopedic trauma at Massachusetts General Hospital and pediatric sports medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital. He finished his training with a fellowship in sports medicine under the direction of Drs. James Andrews at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. Guy is currently an attending physician at Prisma Health Orthopedics in Columbia, South Carolina and a Clinical Professor of Orthopedic Surgery for the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. In addition, Dr. Guy is the Medical Director of all Athletic Training Programs at the University and Adjunct Professor of Arnold school of Public Health Physical Therapy program. For more than twenty years, Dr. Guy has provided medical care as a Team Physician at the University of South Carolina and to more than twenty Columbia area high schools, two professional dance companies and four additional colleges and universities. Dr. Guy's clinical interests include the Knee and Shoulder injuries including disorders of patellafemoral joint Dr. Guy has presented at over 150 National and International symposiums and served in many leadership positions for professional associations including American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Southern Orthopedic Association, American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine and South Carolina Orthopedic Association. Dr. Guy’s accomplishments include being a team surgeon for the US Olympic Games in Beijing, China, 2011 South Carolina Medical Association Physician of the Year, 2015 South Eastern Conference Team Physician of the year, 2016 National Athletic Trainers Association honorary member and 2016 recipient of the South Carolina Athletic Trainers President’s award.
